Dr James Ridgwell

Medical Oncologist

A highly skilled and compassionate medical oncologist at the forefront of cancer care. He recently completed his training which allowed him to work at Peter Maccallum, Alfred, Geelong and many other hospitals before moving to Ballarat. With expertise in various cancers, James is committed to providing personalised treatment strategies tailored to each patients' unique needs.

Beyond his clinical practice, James actively engages in research and clinical trials. He works part-time through University Hospital Geelong as a VCCC alliance rare cancer fellow contributing to advancement in the field of oncology. This work is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with rare and less common cancers by establishing formal networks throughout Victoria.

Additionally, he works at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre & Ballarat regional cancer centre both as a clinician and involved as a sub-investigator for a range of trials at both sites. Outside of work He enjoys spending time with his family, playing in the garden and travelling.
